On Friday, Aug. 9, Invicta Fighting Championships returned to Denver for Invicta FC 56: Maia vs. Cantuária. The event occurred at the Stockyards Event Center with the main card airing live on CBS Sports Network.

In the main event, former flyweight champion Jennifer Maia successfully returned to the organization, with a dominant win against Mayra Cantuária. The victory earns her a title shot against current bantamweight champion Talita Bernardo. You can read the full press release of the event here.

The prelims aired on Invicta’s new YouTube channel, one young lady to keep an eye on is Ali Pellegrini. She made her pro debut and showed great technique both in striking and grappling along with showing she has the heart to do great things in MMA.
