Get ready for an action-packed weekend of MMA! Here are the biggest bouts you won't want to miss, two of which are part of the PFL “Super Fights” pay-per-view event on Saturday, October 19 in Saudi Arabia. Listed below is this week’s podcast with other fights of note on the card.
PFL Super Fights: Francis Ngannou vs. Renan Ferreira
Many regard Ngannou as the lineal heavyweight champion in MMA since he departed the UFC as the heavyweight champ. Ferreira is the PFL’s 2023 heavyweight champion and has been waiting for Ngannou to complete his pro-boxing experiment to face him in MMA. Ngannou went 0-2 in boxing so that’s over and he faces Ferreira this weekend, it’ll be telling of where Ngannou is at in his career and Ferreira is in MMA.
PFL Super Fights: Cris “Cyborg” Justino vs. Larissa Pachecco
Cyborg is another champion, from Bellator (the true Bellator) who has yet to lose her featherweight title. Pachecco is the 2023 featherweight champion and handed Kayla Harrison her only loss. This co-main event like the main event could be telling of the best women’s featherweight in MMA for the winner.
If Cyborg wins, she will add PFL gold to her “grand slam” status as the only fighter to hold titles in UFC, Strikeforce, Bellator and Invicta FC World Featherweight Champion.
That could solidify her as best in the world for women’s mixed martial arts.
PBC Championship Boxing on Prime Video : Bakhram Murtazaliev vs. Tim Tszyu
Yes, there is another UFC event at the APEX but this is a title fight in boxing that should be on your radar and could deliver. With IBF 154 world champion Murtazaliev facing former champion Tsyzu it could produce the high stakes, high-action boxing matches fight fans love. It also helps that the event is on Prime Video.
What Sebastian Fundora couldn't do in 12RDs, @Tim_Tszyu was able to do in 90 seconds 💥.
Tszyu will try to reclaim the 154-pound crown when he battles IBF World Champion Bakhram Murtazaliev exclusively on @PrimeVideo for all Prime members! #MurtazalievTszyu
