TGIF Weekend March 7
Get ready for an action-packed weekend of MMA!
Sorry for this being late, I got sick mid-week and it delayed some stuff but we gotta keep going. So, here are three things to know going into the weekend:
UFC 313 Preview/Picks

UFC 313 is this Saturday and my podcast co-host, Matt Hawkins, will be in-house for the event.
Magomed Ankalaev is the biggest test Alex Pereira has had on paper since becoming champ and we both think he stands a chance to win. If Pereira can defend, this might be the new best pound-for-pound champ we’ve had in a while. This one is truly a coin-toss so if you’re betting, make sure you track those odds and watch the prop bets only.
As for the co-main event, I’m just happy Justin Gaethje is back to competing. I think the rematch with Rafael Fiziev will go about the same as last time. But, we also have to see how well Gaethje has worn the damage taken over his career after that last loss to Max Holloway.

Dre Miley Fusion Fight League
TONIGHT!
On Spectation Sports, Fusion Fight League airs and I had the pleasure of speaking with Dre Miley who has had a tough time getting fights.
When he began fighting, it was because he only has one eye. Now, it’s just a matter of professionalism according to him. Check out my full interview with him here:
TKO Boxing

"Boxing is dead and the UFC killed it!"
I can't tell you how often I have heard that over the years, especially with MMA becoming more popular and the UFC leading the way. Still, boxing has never gone away and one of the richest people on the planet ( he's pretty rich) Turki Alalshikh has been heavily invested in combat sports, boxing in particular.
Now, he and the powers that be behind the UFC (TKO) are venturing into boxing.
So it's not dead.
But it is a little boring and the marketing machine behind the UFC might change that.
Boxing's biggest problem is not the sport.
It's the oldest sanctioned combat sport there is and my generation grew up watching it. But outside of the number of rounds getting shorter, the politics and presentation in boxing is what makes people think boxing is dead.
Maybe this new partnership will breathe some life into it.
