ROSTER CUTS
UFC Roster Watch posted a bunch of UFC cuts (and some additions) today. For those unaware, as we enter the third financial quarter of the business year, this is when the UFC takes stock of their talent and who they want to keep around. This should not be a surprise as Dana White’s Contender Series is set to bring in their new talent with Season 8, which begins August 13.

ANTITRUST CASE
The UFC Antitrust case looks to be back on after Judge Richard Franklin Boulware II of the U.S. District Court in Nevada issued a ruling denying the $335 million settlement between fighters and the UFC. After the news came out, Dana White did an interview with his favorite reporter, Kevin Iole where he hinted that the history between Judge Boulware and he might be personally motivated. Whether or not that is a conflict of interest that pushes this thing back further remains to be seen but the trial is currently scheduled for October 28.

ONE FIGHT NIGHT 24

A title won and a title lost at ONE: Fight Night 24 on Prime Video. Jarred “The Monkey God” Brooks won the interim strawweight MMA title when he faced Gustavo “El Gladiador” Balart. He won via submission in the first round and will soon face current champion Joshua “The Passion” Pacio to see who the undisputed division champ is.
In the co-main event, Danielle Kelly lost her Atomweight Submission Champion title to Mayssa Bastos. Kelly tried her best to be the aggressor but Bastos seemed to attack enough for the judges to consider her the victor. Don’t be surprised if a rematch is booked soon.
