Rules are rules and while some are made to be broken, changes get made so that they don’t have to be.
The CSAC put up a nice visual at the beginning of October so you can have an idea of what to expect. It looks like the UFC will be applying these for this weekend’s card in Edmonton as well. Check it out here:
Watch as @RefMikeBeltran, #mma veteran @UrijahFaber, and fighter @SczarPhair demonstrate the recent changes to the @abcboxing's Commission’s Unified Rules of MMA, effective Nov. 1, 2024.

Speaking of the Edmonton card, the main event has Brandon Moreno taking his first fight after taking a well earned break from competition.
Even thought the UFC could have used him for The Sphere event in September, he will be taking on Amir Albazi in the main event, with the co-main event featuring Jersey’s own Erin Blanchfield facing Rose Namajunas. Both bouts are scheduled for five-rounds so it should be interesting with the new rules in play.
Odd Man In
On this week’s podcast, we didn’t really make picks because we had Adam Martin on who told us about his journey into becoming a pro Sports Betting Writer. Martin also works with me at Spectation Sports who will also be streaming an event this weekend with MECCA 23. Listen to Martin’s story along with his quick picks for the Edmonton card and UFC 309.
Julius Anglickas
Speaking of MECCA 23, I spoke with one half of the main event who is making his return to MMA after dealing with an injury.
At the time we spoke, Anglickas was originally scheduled to face Phil Hawes who backed out last minute. While he does have a new opponent, Anglickas spoke about his anxiety that he gets before competition and it’s worth hearing so check out the full interview here:
